I.COURSE DESCRIPTION
Students will explore materials and processes through safe use of hand and machine tools to create several projects in the "shop".
II.COURSE OBJECTIVES
The student will be able to:
A. Demonstrate accurate use of different measurement tools
B. Read basic blueprints and understand basic drafting symbols
C. Create working drawings using drafting tools and/or Computer Aided Drafting Software
D. Safely operate hand & power tools.
C. Develop a plan of procedure to design and build projects
E. Demonstrate proper techniques of finishing processes
F. Explore materials & processes for different materials such as wood, metal, or plastic
G. Explore Industrial Technology Career opportunities and Technical Training options

A.Text Book & Work Book: Exploring Drafting, Wood Technology & Processes, and Exploring Metalworking
IV.MATERIALS & SUPPLIES
$10 fee will be charge at the beginning of the class. Materials & Processes is an introductory level course designed to instruct students in the basic skills necessary for occupations in the Construction, Manufacturing and Transportation career clusters. Students learn life skills that they can use later in life as home owners and citizens of our community.
